Protect, Protect and Protect
|
|
Sunscreen or SPF has become somewhat of a mantra --
repeated over and over again. But do you really know
what SPF means? And how do you decide on the right factor?
Here's the quick and easy answer: SPF stands for Sun
Protection Factor. The higher the number, the more protection
the product offers and the longer you can stay in the
sun without burning.
For example, most fair-skinned people can tolerate
about 10 minutes under the sun. If you use an SPF of
15, you multiply those 10 minutes by 15, for 150 minutes
of protection. This is only a general guideline and
the KEY is to reapply sunscreen regularly.
